Together with a leading pharmaceutical company in Leiden, we are looking for a First-Line Breakdown Technician (MST) to join the Make Asset Management (MAM) team.

About the Role

The Make Asset Management (MAM) team is responsible for project management, equipment design and adaptation, utility production, and maintaining the company's technical installations. Within MAM, the maintenance team ensures the reliability and performance of production and utility systems.

As a First-Line Breakdown Technician (MST), you will be responsible for responding to mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation malfunctions in production and utility assets across Leiden and Sassenheim. These assets include biotechnological processes such as fermentation, purification, chromatography, and filtration, as well as utility systems and laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities

? Respond to and resolve breakdowns in production and utility systems
? Prioritize issues in consultation with operations to minimize downtime
? Ensure all repairs adhere to safety, compliance, and GMP standards
? Monitor and operate utility systems in a 24/7 shift schedule (3-4-3)
? Work closely with MST colleagues, maintenance engineers, and external service providers
? Support preventive maintenance and project activities within GMP guidelines

What We’re Looking For

? MBO4 qualification in a relevant field (Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical) or equivalent international training
? Minimum 3 years of experience as a technician (breakdown technician experience preferred)
? Experience in highly regulated GMP environments is a plus
? Knowledge of EHS and electrical safety (VCA, NEN3140, or equivalent international certifications)
? Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with technical malfunctions
? Affinity with work permits, LOTO, safety supervision, and compliance
? A result-oriented, problem-solving mindset with the ability to motivate a team
? A valid (B) driver’s license

Practical Details

? Location: Leiden (fully on-site)
? Contract: 1-year contract with the possibility of extension
? Shifts: Rotational 24/7 shift schedule (3-4-3)
