Senior Project Engineer

In partnership with our key pharmaceutical client in Breda, we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer. 

You would be responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned projects (primarily capital projects). These can be related to the introduction of new products and technologies into the packaging operation as well as upgrades to the existing facility in the areas of warehousing and utilities. They plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks of their assigned project.
 

ROLE 

• Participate and assure that projects are delivered in time, within budget and meet the required quality

• Management of the technical scope, from conceptual design, detailed design to execution and commissioning

• Engagement with contractors during initial design stage, request for proposal, execution of work.

• Contractor supervision and safety management during the execution phase of the project.

• Compliance to applicable codes, practices, validation and commissioning policies, performance standards and specifications

• Document control

• Coordination of upgrading and/or installation activities. Varying between pharmaceutical packaging lines, HVAC, utilities or warehouse systems. These activities will contain keeping hands-on oversight of project activities during the installation and commissioning phase.

• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support

• Assist in the development of cost estimates, review plans and other technical documents

• Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project, monitor costs and project progress

• Maintain control of all project documentation

• Create, manage and track RFQ’s in corporation with project lead

• Maintain/update project records

• Assist project manager in getting building permits for the project

 

PROFILE

• BSc or MSc in the field of HVAC, mechanical or electrical engineering or related technological field of equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar (pharmaceutical) manufacturing environment.

• Willing to occasionally work outside office hours.

• Fluency in Dutch & English, both in oral and written communication. 

• Strong Interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborating with cross-functional teams. (e.g. Engineering, Validation, QA, Maintenance, Manufacturing)

• Basic project management skills.

• Critical thinking, problem-solving skills.

• Pragmatic

• Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Self-motivated and proactive. Is able to accomplish tasks without direct oversight

• On-site working, limited remote
