We are seeking an accomplished Director of Computational Biology to lead innovative projects at the intersection of computational biology, drug discovery, and advanced analytics with one of our clients in Biotech. This is a unique opportunity to drive transformative research and development initiatives, focusing on cutting-edge technologies in genomics, transcriptomics, and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-thinking roadmap for computational biology initiatives to support drug discovery efforts.
  • Research & Development: Apply expertise in computational biology to analyze complex datasets, including transcriptomics.
  • Team Management: Build and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful results.
  • Technology Innovation: Spearhead the integration of functional genomics tools such as scRNA-seq, drug-seq, and high-content imaging into research workflows.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Grant Writing: Lead efforts in securing research funding through grants, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the organization through high-profile publications, presentations, and conference participation.

Requirements:

  • Education: PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in drug discovery within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep experience with computational biology and machine learning, particularly in transcriptomics and functional genomics technologies.
  • Track Record: Strong publication history and recognized thought leadership within the field.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
