I'm working with a leading Biopharma company in Ireland that is looking for an Automation Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. This role will play a key part in maintaining and optimizing automation systems in a GMP manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for system performance, automation strategy, and project execution while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Location: Bray, Ireland
  • Duration: 12 months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain automation systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Manage system user access, backups, and restores while troubleshooting issues.
  • Implement corrective actions and collaborate with vendors for technical support.
  • Identify and execute small projects to enhance system efficiency.
  • Lead automation projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical targets are met.
  • Develop solutions tailored to manufacturing processes and optimize automation infrastructure.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, GAMP, ANSI/ISA, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11 regulations.
  • Create and maintain automation engineering deliverables, test scripts, and documentation.
  • Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Global Automation, to drive innovation.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 5+ years working in a GMP manufacturing environment, with expertise in automation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Background in pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi automation systems.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Familiarity with GAMP, ANSI/ISA, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and GxP/QA standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in data analysis.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Leadership: Experience mentoring and training team members to enhance automation expertise.
